I have landed at this base several times in the past 40 years. The first time was in 1973 in a rented seaplane on my way to Ripogenus Dam to explore the recently abandoned log flume leading past the rapids below the dam. My wife Karen and I will never forget our trip down the longest water slide in the world. Over a mile long and the drop at the end was not for people. 100" to the river. We got out and climbed down before that drop-off. It's gone to ruin now but the pathway is still there and visible on Google. The seaplane base is still the small friendly place it was then when we returned several years ago.

I am a private pilot who has reviewed Millinocket Muni. also.
